| Pray for my finger!
(I admit this is purely a venting session!)
I cut my finger pretty badly 4 weeks ago.
The wound finally closed this week--but the area surrounding it has
become infected. It's red and swollen and has fluid inside. Now I
probably have to get it re-opened and drained.
The real kicker is not that I neglected it or didn't take care of it ...
Didn't I go and wait 6 hours in the ER to be treated for it?!? By a stupid
doctor (an attending, no less) who looked at it for 2 minutes but
didn't clean or disinfect my cut, but just steri-stripped it (bandaged).
I'm so mad at the stupid doctor and want to draft a complaint letter to
him!!! Grrrrrrrrr...

| Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
***No spoilers here***
After less then 24 hours with this book, I've finished! I guess it helps that I can read books at work.

| 3rd Time's the Charm... No Wait, the 6th Time's the Charm! Finally after going many times over a span of a year (and once when it was sleeting/snowing on a cold January day), it happened... Names were being called... "John Doe-ofsky"... "Jane Smithy"... and I hear my name...! I can only squeak out a gasp... do a quick jump... and start running to the front... (with Melon running behind me)... to receive these:
Wicked $25 lottery orchestra tickets!!! I was finally a winner after going 6 times!!! We loved it and had a great time!!!
Though "Ou" luck may generally be bad... I may have to admit that she may be my lucky charm...
So, words of advice to those who have been before and haven't won... keep going! Perserverance and persistence does pay off!!
| Donovan Sightings! It's been so long since I last updated on xanga, I almost forgot how to do so with the pictures! But I break my self-imposed hiatus to post about... cutie pie Donovan!
Some noteworthy highlights: 1) Wendy's water broke at our place during our tree-trimming party! 2) Most new moms look a wreck (those that I've visited at the hospital) but Wendy looked great--glowing, happy, serene, content, satisfied... Maybe it had something to do with the lobster dinner she just had as Dris and I walked in. New dad had the filet mignon! 3) Donovan's the smallest baby I've ever held at 5lbs 5 oz! He's a little peanut and so precious!!! Good job Wen & Ern! heheh...
| 2/14, V-Day
Notice that I didn't say "V-Day"--that's because I don't like to say it
or wish people a "Happy V-Day." It's a lovey-dovey, feely-touchy,
flowers-and-candy greeting card-made holiday designed to maximize your
wallet anyway. Plus, if you're single, it can be a sad and
depressing day! Besides, what is V-Day compared to the great love of our Lord God anyway? Our Lord Jesus Christ has paid the great price for all of us!
For the past several years, I've been starting a tradition
of hanging out with my single gal pals on this day! Yesterday, I
had dinner with a few of my sisters--celebrating love and
friendship! We splurged and feasted on peking duck and yummy
Chinese food! It was soooooo good! And I had a wonderful time with SC, GL, and JH--giggling, sharing stories, etc.
During dinner, the chef sliced the peking duck for us, then arranged it
on a platter, and proceeded to take away the duck carcass! But
the duck still had alot of meat on it!! Maybe like even 40%
meat--for real!!! JH (better known as CS )
pondered aloud if we should ask for the carcass back... but we didn't
know if it would seem too Chinese-y...?! Would it?!
So the question of the day is... "Would you ask for the duck carcass back?!?"
